The National Animal Law Competitions (NALC) are back and ready for you! This is an amazing chance to meet animal law professionals and fellow students, develop your practical written and oral advocacy skills, advance your knowledge and understanding of important animal law concepts, and to get your name out there!
NALC will feature two distinct competitions: Appellate Advocacy and Legislative Drafting & Lobbying.
Registration is now open and applications close November 6, 2026. Written materials will be due December 1, 2026 with quarter- and semi-finalists announced early January. Virtual semi-final rounds will take place February 20-21, 2027 and…drumroll please…the final rounds will take place at the ALDF Student Convention on March 12, 2027! I cannot wait to witness the action and see who makes it to the end. I’ll be rooting for all of you!
